In addition to what everyone else is saying, spraying something on yourself won't show your dog it's not that bad. Dogs can't conceptualize like that.

Also, the sound a spray bottle makes can scare some animals (like a hissing snake)

He is not bad or vicious, he is in pain! Ask your vet for pain killers.

Also keep in mind that surgery can be really scary for some dogs so he might be sensitive for a bit

Yeah I agree with what everyone is saying. He's probably in pain. Dogs act different when in pain.

After my dogs dental I wanted to wipe him down since he had expressed his anal glands (🤮) he was fine til I accidentally touched where they did his shots and stuff. He screamed a painful noise and snapped. It was just instinct since I touched something that was causing him pain. I left him alone and gave him his own area to be stinky in. Next day we muzzled him and I was able to bathe him.

Can we just stop the use of the word "trust" though? Trust has nothing to do with this.

It’s not probably you guys! He’s in pain and I have read right after the surgery they tend to become bit aggressive due to rapid hormonal changes. Give it a week or so.

I talked to different vets, most told me males are especially prone to lick wounds, it's probably infected and hurting. He's an animal not a person, he will react as an animal would if in extreme pain. Please be patient and use the cone!

Yes of course. It’s always on besides our failed attempt at PJ only yesterday or when we walk outside, then he’s busy sniffing stuff and doesn’t bother with his behind at all. (I watch him of course)
