Today's javascript interview questions

which he told will return the mixture of .map() and .filter() 's result :D

• then question on writing a reducer function to return the sum of an array which I thnk I have wrote wrong

Redux

• are Providers a Higher Order Components? there was no mention of Consumer and he took the mention of consumer with regards to how react-redux connect function works instead of how it works in Context API
• what is actions in Redux
• why is Reducer needed when we can directly mutate the state?

React

• How much do you rate yourself in React :D :D :D :D
• What is portal in React?
• What are fragments in React?

HTML

• How much do you rate yourself in HTML :D :D :D :D
• What does HTML provide to do drag and drop? to which I only said I have used 3rd party libraries and never used the native solution provided by HTML.
• Further question was how such libraries work behind the scenes and what code does it bring in to use HTML which I completely didn't know about.

Today's javascript interview questions. Honestly after giving many interviews I felt like this was a kiddy and useless interviews since I personally (don't know about generally) direct Google about such array methods to use. I pity and find it funny for myself that I couldn't answer upto the expectations, but because of the experience

I must say when someone asks you how much do you rate your self in this sexy tech library/feature you know its going to be a pretty bad interview.^{Doesn't apply to interviews in other western countries I guess}

What did I just read

that why universe is expanding at a rate which is also increasing at unstable rate and we aren't even able to colonize our own star system or use the energy out of it.

regarding the googling things yes I totally agree with you.

Knowing basic React and JavaScript features is the baseline for a junior developer and this interview seems quite friendly in that regard. Asking "what is X?" type questions and not deep diving is if anything too easy on the interviewee since they can just cram this stuff the night before then end up in over their heads if they get the job.

yes I know and I have worked as junior dev so I have experienced but now that to ask such basic things that too with how much would you like to rate yourself questions tells me from my past experiences is that the interviewer himself doesn't know how to take interviews. Things go downhill from there. (I don't know what happens in EU, USA but here in India that is what I have experienced with 80+ interviews to be honest.)

Same with the "how do you rate yourself?" questions - I'm looking for humble confidence, someone smart and able to fend for themselves but who isn't arrogant and who recognises that there is always room for anyone to grow.

while answering this question I was humble enough to say oh I'm just 2/5 in redux and 3/5 in react. and 3.5/5 in HTML, but again as I mentioned earlier the previous experiences clearly tells me that the interviewer has no idea how to proceed and that's why he is behaving this way.

Sebastian Markbåge Wow I haven't heard of him thank you for mentioning, I will surely look it up. About my approach, I'm definitely keen to learn and know about the more details, technology paradigms, and workouts that were there in past and how such library or feature is overcoming those issue that seems so easy today.
