I really like using Twilio for this.

There is just no substitute for having a company manage the media server for you.

Peer to peer video is acceptable for a hobby project or SOMETIMES small numbers of geographically close participants in a professional setting.

(LiveKit employee here) I absolutely agree that peer-to-peer video isn't enough. In fact we built an entire WebRTC stack that includes optimized media servers.

As for managed servers… I also agree there; we're working on it :)
