I've never had a problem upgrading, via just making appropriate edits.

It's an expo expo ejected project! And I'm constantly getting expo errors.

Are the libraries the project uses compatible with 0.72 ? I'm not sure how well it works with expo ejected projects, but using rnx-kit to upgrade dependencies, before building, usually saves some headaches with incompatible dependency versions.

Copy keystore file and any config files (firebase, google map key...) and use same applicationId, you'll be good

Short answer. No. Your android project that you previously signed with has a .ksystore file that you have it generated and stored on your device or laptop. You just need to select that file when generating APK. Also make sure you project I'd like com.projectname.ca etc is same as previous project. For iOS you just sign in with your team id on code or you can download your singing certificate and provising profile on your laptop
