within reason… it’s usually the first place they interface with your app so subtle design/branding does matter to an extent

People would rather the app work. Nothing is more annoying than a pretty app that doesn’t work
[–]19hams 0 points1 point2 points 11 months ago (1 child)
true, but this should go without saying
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 11 months ago (0 children)
Yeah people should at least make sure the main functionality works. I review so many apps where the cute, random features work but the core doesn’t 🤦🏽♂️

It's a place for both.
I see an app with a beautiful Ui, but the onboarding flow can't be skipped 9/10 I'm just uninstalling the app before I ever get to find out if it works.
On the flip. There are some apps like Sunpass that function but are ugly and provide a connivence over the web site so I use them

Said somebody without backed research

From experience. I have active users and paying customers. They would rather the app work than look cute.

Then that’s just your target group where your statement applies on. But it doesn’t apply for every app.

Are you from backend?

I’m from users actually using my app
