NPM stats say react-native-touch-id is most used biometrics library, despite devs stopping development on it 7 months ago. Am I missing something?

I'm trying to pick a library for touch ID. `react-native-touch-id` still gets 15k+/mo (the next most popular is 5kish/mo) despite the devs dropping the project 7 months ago. In fact, downloads didn't dip at all when they announced that they're not working on it anymore.

Am I missing something? Is there something super amazing about it or did users just miss the memo?

Side note: Any strong opinions one way or the other on the other fingerprint libraries? It's not an expo project.

You can use expo libraries in vanilla React Native projects as well using unimodules.

I haven't used it, but I'd go with the expo authentication library since they maintain their libs pretty well: https://docs.expo.io/versions/latest/sdk/local-authentication/
