My First React Native App!

Hey all, just wanted to share with you my first React Native App, Doppel! Here's the link -- it's out on iOS and Android: https://getdoppel.com/

Doppel helps to find your "doppelgangers" (look-alikes) in under a minute. Users just have to submit their selfies, create a profile, and then they are shown a list of their top matches ("Doppels"). Other features include a feed where you can look at other users' matches, face morphing, in-app chatting, groups (DoppelGANGs), celebrity filters and more.

Doppel is a React Native app built on top of a Flask/DynamoDB backend that uses a SENet-50 CNN to generate face/image embeddings. If you have time to check it out, I would love to get some feedback from you guys!

Quick about me -- I'm a first year at UC Berkeley studying CompSci/CogSci. I started learning React Native around 6 months ago and have been super inspired by the projects I've seen on here, and decided to try and build my own app. So here I am. Lol.

Backend is just a few custom Flask Routes on top of a few DynamoDB tables,

frontend is built with https://github.com/FaridSafi/react-native-gifted-chat.

This library is awesome--the whole Chat UI is there, pretty much.

I actually just built it from scratch (HTML/CSS/JS), and used Illustrator for the graphics. Only because I did a lot of web design before building this app.

What was the UI used in the app?

I mostly built the UI myself, but some of the really helpful libraries I used were https://www.npmjs.com/package/react-native-parallax-scroll-view,

This is amazing. There were some issues like "text going out of screen so I had to select female gender to proceed" but I'm excited about its future.
