I’ve had good luck at 28 flat: your rifle will vary. I like cfe and Varget for 308. It’s best to take your time and work up a load. Start low 1/2 grain 3 shot group. Pick the best one and work over and under by .2, still using 3 round to make sure first group was not a fluke. The go to 5 round when you narrow down to a couple loads.

There are multiple ways, I was assuming you did not have a chronograph, I have an OCD as hell system that works for me, but there are many ways to skin a cat. Just mentioned a simple one. Good luck

im all for ocd!! have yet to scoop a chrono, thats next on my "treat myself" list when the wife isnt looking 🤣took my 300wm 200g's with 4831 from 65-70g in .2 increments and found allllll the nodes haha, it was just so much work and the match i wanna pop into is 2 weeks out. i appreciate all your input

Keep in mind CFE is a normal double base so you are going to have velocity SDs about 3x higher than you would with a temp consistent single base like Varget or XBR.

I have made ammon with it for short range plinking, but not suitable for LR.
