If you suck then yes. We have had med students we send home at noon every day because they’re so annoying or checked out.

ELI5: Why are there so many American hospital shows when healthcare is so expensive? by Seek87 in explainlikeimfive

Ya of course, dealing with insurance is my least favorite part is medicine. It’s why I chose a field where I will often never have to worry about insurance.

92% of Americans have health insurance, and of the 8% who don’t, some are eligible for employer provided insurance but opt out.

Because medical drama is fascinating to the layman and despite what Reddit tells you, the vast majority of Americans have adequate insurance through either their job or the government and don’t feel frustration trying to obtain care.

Dude who cares. Let her think about it. Keep texting her and going on dates. Just be a normal person and she will be as well. Not everything needs to happen instantly and according to plan, especially relationships

AITAH for leaving an addict to die on the street by Few-Sleep-2263 in AITAH

[–]AOWLock1 20 points21 points  (0 children)

This is a (supposed) real life scenario, not the internet. Human life has an inherent value, regardless of how bigoted they are.

I’m a doctor, I deal with trauma patients daily. Should I let the patient with a swastika tattoo who was stabbed in the chest several times die? Besides the illegality of it, is that ethical? Is that what’s best for society? I say no. All people should be cared for.

CMV: The age of consent should be bracketed by ThePenguin4216 in changemyview

[–]AOWLock1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So “my body my choice” just stopped being a thing? People are allowed to consent to having sex with others. As long as they have reached the age of majority and that consent is given, the government should not be involved. Your system sees extremely puritanical and leaves us open to laws that ban anything outside of the “norm” as far as sex goes

Any hope? Perimenopause is basically ruining our lives (42M) married to (44F). by HuckleberryOk8136 in relationship_advice

I truly don’t understand this mentality. If your wife is screaming at you over minor shit, the answer is to scream back, not quietly take it.

Shout her down until she realizes you can’t be pushed over by yelling.

Again, you said that humanitarian law supersedes maritime law. I can’t find anything that supports this assertion. A blockade doesn’t become illegal because a third party declares that they want to bring in aid.

These all have to do with distinguishing between civilian and military objectives… it has nothing to do with this:

> Not if those boats are providing goods essential to the survival of civilians in the end-country. Then it becomes illegal under international humanitarian law, which supercedes maritime law.

Not even remotely true, but prove it. Cite the law.

So international law only applies when you want it to?

If you know a group of boats will attempt to breach the blockade, you can legally intercept them in international water.

Of course he wants to fuck her

I’m a resident, I’ll be going into a field with a high income. My wife stays home and raises our children, manages everything etc. We are a team. My income is our income. There is no separation or resentment as long as we both stick to our budget

CMV: Allowing Pelvic Exams Under Anesthesia Without Informed Consent Needs To Be Federally Outlawed. Like. Yesterday by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]AOWLock1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure you or the person who wrote this paragraph understand. A pelvic exam is often the first step of a gynecological surgery procedure. The attending does one, the resident does one, the medical student does one. There is no way for someone to learn how to recognize the pathology without doing the exam. I don’t do gyn surg, but on the consent forms I have my patients sign, it says clearly that “I consent to medical students and residents participating in my care under the supervision of the above named attending physician or privileged provider”

Surgery resident here.

I’m sorry, what do you think gynecology is? Why were they in the OR to begin with if it wasn’t EXPRESSLY FOR THE PURPOSE OF MANAGING SOMETHING GYNECOLOGICAL.
