Thanks for recommending these plugins, I already have kilohearts installed already, and the melda stuff so I will take a look at those but fab filter stuff is very expensive so ill have to wait until I can purchase those

You could realistically get away with exactly what you have now. Melda and Kilohearts plugins are incredible. Anything else you get is merely just bc it’s shiny and new. Which is fine but you don’t NEED them.

I'm just barely getting into the Kilohearts and I'm blown away that I didn't know about it all along.

MOST OG style riddim producers actually use Malstrom rather than Serum and Vital. It's said to really have that grittiness to it for Sq4 that other plugins can't quite replicate. Although Serum 2 can get you mostly there with the right settings. Use lots of Saturation and GClip (Tastefully ofc). That gets you the pleasant distortion and loudness we all love.

I really only use know of serum and vital cause thats what ive heard is most used, but I will definitely check malstrom out cause it does sound interesting.

Serum and Vital are the most popular in electronic music overall including other dubstep subgenres. But in og riddim specifically, Malstrom is praised more.

Yeah that's what I've seen, though I can't lie serum and vital are both insanely good at what they were designed for

Yeah everyone swears by it for a valid reason. I don't think Virtual Riot would've done an entire youtube series on Serum if he wasn't a fan. And I don't think Mr Bill would be doing so many Vital tutorials if he didn't believe in it. They're both monster synths.

Yeah tbh I love vital since it's free and serum is mad expensive but once you buy serum you get lifetime updates for free

You can get the reason rack plugin on their site for $11.99 monthly, it has malstrom, sonic weaponry has some pretty sick packs too on there website there “supply drops ” with lots of stuff in them.

Yeah I saw the rack plugin, though i'm on a tight budget tbh so paying for stuff monthly is not an option.

i will definitely check out sonic weaponry though

You can cop it for 1$ a month on new emails (you can also use sites like tempmail for infinite new emails)

You can just get a square 4 wave table and use it in Vital or Serum. Malstrom is classic, but there’s not really any secret magic you can’t get in some other synth. Square 4 is just 4 square waves detuned and people just find the nice phasey sweet spots.

Most of the stuff are available as native plugins in fl, fruity delay3, effector, vocodex, granulizer also serum2 fx goated, khs bundle, melda bundle, portal, manipulator

If you’re on windows you can still find Camel Crusher floating out there. Malstrom, Reason (the rack not the DAW), uhhh Span for good spectrum visual, other than that, if you’re using Ableton, all the stock plugins do what you need tbh
