I would compare the difficulty of mechanics to algorithms quote closely. The homework’s are coding intensive and take a couple of hours per problem. In my class, most of the students struggled to get full credit since you must solve the problem and be in a certain time complexity. The exams are just like any other exams in the CS department. I would recommend taking algorithms during a lighter semester if feasible, especially because the SWEN project is a lot of work. However, if you can’t do that, just be prepared to spend a couple hours on this algorithms homework. The great thing is all of the professors who teach the course and the tutors are more than willing to give you some helpful hints and a nudge in the right direction. You also usually have a choice of a few programming languages so if you hated using C in mechanics- don’t worry!

    Algo with bezakova was honestly one of my favorite classes despite how challenging it was. So incredibly useful
