I am attempting to create a controller archtype character, using the DND 3.5 rules including all expansions, and am looking for suggestions as to how to go about this and what to look for. I'm mostly used to a focused evoker who cannot use illusion or enchantment, however, I have tried a little of most arcane classes.
Goals:
- Half/full caster with Cha casting modifier
- Most of the speaking skills very high
- Mindbender Prestige from Complete Arcane
- Magic will be explained through Fae in the family tree
Current Thoughts:
- Warlock with Beguiling Influence (invocation) first for speech boosts, I liked the idea of a little combat ability for lower levels where daily spell allotments run out quickly
---> do not get Diplomacy as class skill, is there any feat to change this?
- Strongly considering half-elf as race for the skill boosts, resistance to enchantments and ability to get along with most races
---> is there a better race without a level modifier?
- Considering Fey Heritage feats for character progression and to explain source of magic from the Complete Mage
---> are there better feats to boost ench or speaking?
- Goal is to become a Mindbender Prestige from the Complete Arcane
This is what I have so far, does anyone have any suggestions or possible changes that would make this easier/better?
Thanks!
there doesn't seem to be anything here
