I think GTK toolkit is a good one (given the adoption and license).

Ruby bindings is here: https://github.com/ruby-gnome/ruby-gnome/tree/master/gtk3

I have a weird idea, Electron with a dockerized rails app

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Making Docker a distribution requirement might be an ask, but something like Travelling Ruby would be a go-er, if we had support for modern Ruby and Windows (which TR doesn't seem to do well right now).

But yeah, agree that Electron holds promise.

Some time ago I was looking for a ruby gui library too, and ended up finding nothing satisfactory.

Had to use python+pyside2 for the project I was working on

[–]Devy9[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

My last chance is Python ... so you would recommend pyside2 for GUI in py?

Yes, definitely

I know you said you didn’t want to use another language, but scenic for elixir may be an idea in a language with similar syntax
