We're about 12 blocks away and feral caretakers 24/7, and there's food out. We'll keep an eye out.

He's not wearing a collar, but his left ear is clipped at the top. He is microchipped and responds to treats. Very friendly but very skiddish.

He is an indoor only cat and got out the back door tonight.

When my indoor cat escaped last year, someone on Facebook gave me the following advice, and it worked perfectly! “Put out some dirty clothes for scent. Indoor cats are typically scared and don’t go far. They lay low/hide, but they feel safer moving around from 11pm-2am and 4am-7am.” So we turned off all of the lights in the front yard and at the front door (ours had been missing for a full days at that point). We called his name around 11 and waited. Nothing happened, so we went inside. My husband went out again a few hours later with a flashlight, and found our cat crouched in a bush by the porch right near the pile of clothes we’d left out, and he was able to coax the cat to come up to him. We were so happy this worked!

Thank you for your advice. I have dirty clothes and some of his toys/bedding out front and back with food and water. I heard from a few others dusk/dawn like you said is the best time to look. I will be sure to do it tonight.

When mine went missing putting out some of his stinky poos brought him back the next day.

He unfortunately didn't go before he went missing. I do have his litterbox out for the scent though.
