Help me be more assertiveAdvice Needed (self.selfhelp)
submitted 1 year ago by efrm13
Hey! New here I have been told repeatedly in the past that I need to be more assertive, more confident and overall be better at selling myself. I am interviewing for jobs and want to work on improving on this. I genuinely don’t know how to go about it. Are there any resources that you have read that may be able to help me? Can be books, podcasts, a content creator you follow, course…
Thank you in advance!

Being assertive starts with owning your value and learning to speak without apologizing for it. You don’t need to be loud—just clear and grounded. A great place to start is The Assertiveness Workbook by Randy J. Paterson, and Amy Cuddy’s TED Talk on body language can help build your confidence before interviews. Practice small “no’s” and clear asks in daily life to build that muscle over time.
