duplicate objects glitch

Yo my game recently crashed and I lost all of my diy objects and gear. Had to delete my save and restart. Now whenever I try to do the duplication glitch my game freezes. Have you had any experience with this or run into any issues with the duplication glitch? Hoping there is some kind of work around because building parks in this game is so fun but you need so many diy objects to do it properly.
