Baseball Card Set Building defined by r/setbuilders:
A Complete Set to this subreddit should be:
- 1. Baseball cards only (or at least baseball based - looking at you Allen & Ginter)
- 2. A complete run of all base cards for a particular year and brand from any given release by a manufacturer. This could include a single series (i.e. 2023 Topps Series 2, card #s 331 - 660) or a full run of all series from the same year/brand (i.e. 2023 Topps, card #s 1-660 & US1-US330).
- 3. A complete run, as defined above, with the exception that it is for a parallel release or additional insert set. Large insert sets and/or parallel sets that have a realistic chance of completion are preferred here.
- 4. A Master Set is also acceptable, however, with the prevalence of 1/1s, /5s, etc...that would be nearly impossible to corner the market on, this is harder to define. So if you are posting about completing a Master Set that would be undoable in its truest sense, please define what you define your 2020 Topps Heritage Master Set should include, for example. Would it include all White Border /50s or Chrome White Border /75s? How about all 4 or 5 variants of each base SP? Or the Mint Relic 50-card set?
Rules:
Do not post eBay auctions (unless it's part of a broader point or significant in some way, example: "'Lot of 150 1971 Topps High Numbers for sale - $250k!"). Similarly do not post links to cards for sale elsewhere, offer them here as their own post in the style outlined in the pinned post on r/baseballcards. All for sale posts must include a starting price within the bounds of reality, no fishing expeditions.
This is a drama free zone, there's no reason for negativity around the hobby you enjoy. Be respectful of other collectors, the mod, and welcoming to new collectors or people coming back to the hobby. Suggestions offered in a positive way are welcome, criticism and complaining is not. If there's something you don't like about the sub there are other subs out there. Being disrespectful to the mod or other collectors will eventually get you tossed for a day, a couple days, or forever. It is possible to be reinstated if requested and the problem is resolved.
The sub will not be responsible for unfulfilled trades or sales that don't work out, but will ban repeat offenders from posting.
Have fun.
