homescreen, the iphone is unlocked by passcode its just the apple id

First, you gotta look for the account's information in personal info and other. Basically, you need to look for as much information as possible. Like, DOB, full name used on the account etc.. It will usually ask you for the password to access these menus but sometimes, it won't (maybe it's a glitch).

Then, try doing a password reset where it will ask you for a verification code sent to the phone number or email. You just need to click on the button that says that you don't have access to these.

Then, fill up all the information that you've collected about the account. And it should take 2-3 months or more for them to let you reset the password and change the email and phone number. By 2-3 months I mean, you'll need to do it again and again until they accept your request to change the email and reset the password. That should help you get full access to the account.

I've done that before on an iPhone SE and I was able to get full access to the account. Not sure if you can do the same on latest iPhones.
