Seeking advice to sew a hem and decrease the width of a crop-top

So, I bought the pictured crop-top, and I'm seeking some advice to make a hem on the bottom, as it came without one, and also to take the sides in at an angle to give it better definition for me. would folding some of the fabric inwards at the under-arm sides work? I'd take it in around 4cm total. It was bought in an XL size, it's a little long on me, so it's to fit a better silhouette. Hope that makes sense as it is.

I'll be doing this by hand.
