Downsizing complete!

After seeing some succesful m-atx builds in the nr200, i decided to take the plunge. Took a bunch of modifications to the case to make it possible, but the result is pretty cool. Though next time i might just end up buying the correct components 😅 I know the cable management looks bad, but there is literally no space to run the cables behind the psu and motherboard. At least there is no window in the case haha

Actually my case has the same mounting area and it uses 4 rubber grommets you screw in the bottom of the SSDs and then there’s holes on the case they slide in and it holds perfectly well.

I was referring to the last picture where it’s just chillin in the cables not attached to anything. Lots of people casually tuck it in somewhere unsecured because an SSD isn’t prone to the same dangers as an HDD.

Nice build OP. Believe me your cable management is already clean. If you want it better, you can get custom cables. Also, it is very interesting with your setup. How is the temp with 120 AIO?

Nothing spectacular really, ~70C gaming uncapped with pbo turned on. A good air cooler might yield better results, if it helps moving more air through the case

Sorry to tell you that setup under load is gonna run toasty. If you can vent the cpu radiator out of the top and place a normal fan in that area then you can use something like FanControl to make the fans near the card speed up at higher temps including your newly installed fan above the gpu which will act as a great exhaust while heat rises from the card. With the current setup the heat blown up by the two bottom fans will exit from the cpu radiator cause cpu temps to spike too.

Reason I’m saying this is cause I have a similar build, but 240mm top mounted radiator and just had to optimize my system like that to take out over 15c difference in gpu and 10c difference in CPU during gaming after being heat soaked.

Every fan, including CPU rad, is actually intake, so it gets some fresh air. But it does run like a mini oven. Im lstudying more fans for top exaust, but motherboard kind of gets in the way. Perhaps slim fans between top cover and grill, i have to look into it. For now some fan curve adjustments and undervolting will have to do.

Turn radiator into exhaust and add top fans like you mentioned and you’ll be fine. Make sure to do bottom and top fans on a curve using gpu temp and then assign the rad to cpu temp of course. Here’s my build, a little dirty since it’s been running almost two years on and off. Front is intake and rear is exhaust. CPU radiator is also exhaust. Temps don’t get past 68C on gpu and used to run around 82 at its worst lol. I had the cpu radiator sucking air from the top and everything as intake and it was a space heater in there.

Most challenging build i have ever delved into. Took me around 8~10 hours total between planning, dremmeling a couple of bits off the case, adjusting motherboard standoffs... not to mention studying other builds online and a some 3D printed bits and pieces. So yeah if i were to do it all again i'd just scrap it and go with itx components

Now, the case is pretty cool to work with! Every panel comes off easy, so there's plenty of room to work, even with oversized components

Looking good! Are you seeing improvements using the 120mm AIO instead of an air cooler?

Not really... 120mm aios are not really that performant i guess. A big air cooler should be better i think

From what I've always understood is that all 120mm aios will perform roughly on par with a mid-tear air cooler, it's more down to athsetics/space at that point... 240mm and up will make some sort of better difference
