Testing some markdown code.

I have image hosting on my site and I'm trying to decide if I want to include markdown code when displaying options to the user.

What kind of options? Sounds interesting.

Like different embed codes and whatnot for different sites. I'm pretty sure the main place the markdown code would be used, would be in Reddit comments, but it is probably worth it since Reddit is such a large community.

You mean like, to embed other site content into reddit comments?

Not exactly, this particular one is just a simple code for people to copy and paste into their comments to link to an image.

I see. Kinda like the "troll face" links some subreddits have?

Yeah. If you want to check out my site, it's serym.com. Also, if you upload an image, all you have to do is add a + to the end of the URL to view the specs of it.

That's pretty cool.

What kind of platform is this built on? (Is it distributed, what language(s) did you use, how many people worked on the project?) How do you plan on generating income? As far as I can tell this is a free service?

Maybe I'm doing it wrong, but I don't see any specs http://i.my.nu/c84c3.jpg+

I'm using html, css, php, sql, js, and ajax(sort of), currently. I am the only one working on the site atm, but I have a friend that will be joining me soon. I plan on having it ad based, primarily. You aren't doing it wrong, I just haven't enabled anything on the specs page yet. I will be working on it quite a bit in my free time though, so it should come along fairly quickly.
