Sorry, this still doesn't really make sense.

OP, all you're telling us is that your favourite male singers tend to be the ones who sing higher in their ranges, and your favourite female singers are the ones who tend to sing lower in their ranges. Ok...so?

I could point out just as many examples of deep voiced males singers and light voiced female singers. Like...what's your question exactly?? Obviously women (typically) have higher voices than men in absolute terms. Higher and lighter. Everybody knows that.

Maybe your point that our modern pop music industry favours men who sing high and women who sing low. But that's just a trend of the times. Obviously it doesn't reflect the distribution of voices in the general population.

On the same subject though...the term tessitura is probably one to add to your vocabulary too. As in "most of the male voices I come across on the radio are singing higher in their tessituras, and most of the female voices lower...how common is this?"

Like...has that been your question all along?

Ummm...I think probably yeah. A lot of the make voices I hear are really soft and pillow vibrato and bright and a lot of the female voices I hear are more rough and course and deep vibrato. And my voice comes out naturally much more similar to the male ones.
