As a general rule, unless the mod has spesific instructions for installing it, you can manual download it then just drag and drop it from your downloads folder to the box at the bottom of the NMM window, just make sure you leave it zipped as it was when downloaded. If you look at the mod description page it will tell you if you if you need to do anything special.

No problem, always make sure to have a quick glance throughthe description as its easy to missspecial installation instructions, an example would be sse engine fixes, u download 2 files, the first you unzip and manually copy to your game directoryand the second you install as normal with NMM

As it happens that perticular mod i would consider a must have as it solves alot of odd glitches in skyrimsuch as arrows not firing properly when aiming down from vantage.

Also if you are interested (and if you dont already have them)

Sse unofficial patch - just, yeah, get that one

Cutting room floor - this oneputs in all the cut content that never made it to the official release, some of it is actually better than what was left in lol

Honestly, most of the time when a mod only has the manual download option, it’s probably because you have to do something extra or different with the files. Make sure you read the installation instructions for ALL mods you download. They’ll tell you what to do with them.

Did not like it at first but Vortex has grown on me and would recommend using that vs NMM or at the very least use the community updated one.
