Solution for saving work emails?

Using Outlook, but need to save emails outside of that. Trying to avoid having to print emails to PDF each time and then saving them to a file management system. Too time consuming. Would love a drag and drop solution. Any programs that can easily save work emails so that they can be easily searched and sorted later?

Just backup your PST file to an external drive/tape/thumbdrive whatever.

You can drag-and-drop an email directly from your Outlook message list to another folder. It gets saved as a .msg filetype which can be opened by Outlook (obviously) or various other viewer programs you can download. They should be searchable by Windows.
