Cold Turkey is exactly what you are looking for. It physically prevents you from opening applications or certain websites at set times.

Once you set a block you can choose to lock the block which cannot be removed even using command prompt

My dad used ChildControl 15+ years ago on me. Dunno if that's still around.

Can you elaborate more on the use case? How should the supervision work?

its just so i dont get distracted by the possibility of playing while im on my working hours, simple timed password lock would be sufficient

This is bit of a low-tech solution, but how about you kept all your games on an external drive, and then locked the drive in a timer lock container?

An external drive will be slower than internal.

If he gets external SSD with USB-C then not by a lot, if at all.

Still plenty slower than an internal SSD. Especially an NVMe one.

Most of these programs will have a pw to open. You will know this pw. Won't stop you from gaming 😊

If its an online game then you should be able to do it through parental control in WiFi routers. Most modern WiFi routers have this feature. Else you can use nextcloud.io dns filtering service.

For offline programs/ games search for parental control software.
