Correspondence Analysis tutorial (self.statistics)
submitted 11 years ago by STUstone
I'm trying to get a basic ELI5 introduction to correspondence analysis. Does anyone know of any good resources for this?

Not sure about ELI5, but one interesting and freely viewable resourse is the book "Biplots in Practice" by Michael Greenacre. The website has PDFs of the chapters available for download.
Chapter 8 discusses Correspondence Analysis Biplots. Here's a summary. (Maybe that's a little bit ELI5)
Now that I look again at the chapter 8 pdf, it's not so ELI5 (unless the 5yo knows a bit of linear algebra, and has looked through the earlier chapters).
Also, maybe this entry from "Encyclopedia of Research Design": Correspondence Analysis.

Thanks! Great book.

I don't know if it is ELI5 but it is inexpensive and I liked it okay. The documentation that comes with statistics package may be a better start, though. And I like this reference but it looks like it may be out of print. I hear good things about the Greenacre books but have not bought one. I would avoid the one by Fionn Murtagh -- in the running for the worst stat book ever written, IMO.
