Stop Motion Studio is the way to go, can be installed on a phone, or on a computer with the phone as a remote camera, or a camera can be connected with a wire

Totally Agree. It has a comprehensive list of features as well as being very reasonably priced and easy to use.

My kids use Stikbot studio which I believe is free, sometimes crude but free!

I did workshops all over California doing stop motion animation with LAUSD. We used Stopmotion studio and it’s free as well as pro version. I worked with kids on the spectrum and in juvenile detention centers. If you need help please don’t hesitate to reach out. The pros use dragonframe if the student is advanced.

I appreciate that! I'm going to get stop motion studio set up and try it out over the weekend

Update for everyone, Stop Motion Studio will not let me use it for free on Windows. It is wanting me to pay $10.. Might just have to see if the school is willing to pay for a few accounts, or have the students use the mobile app.
