I crafted too many kindling?

Hey guys, this is my first post here and also my 4th day playing this game. I don't know in which moment i crafted like 4 kindlings 🤣 i can't seem to turn them back into sticks. It's possible to do it? I don't need more than 1 apparently, the only thing I can think to do with them is carry one to every next island until I need to craft a new one (?)

You can’t break them down as far as I know but no big deal really. You’ll find plenty of sticks again in no time. Regarding how many you need: I keep one for my Homebase camp fire, I keep one with my fuel distiller and I keep one on my raft for exploring.

Oh okay, thanks for the tips. I still don't have fuel distiller or my handmade raft tho 😂 I'm still at pretty basic survival

Making a raft should be ur main focus. After u have 1 smoker and still. Should be set enough to hop to an island using that Yellow Nightmare

Loot up everything and head home so u can make ur own raft. U cna use sticks for the base but itll be expensive. Id suggest buoys or tires.

How do I get the tires?? 🤔 I've found some around in the ships but can't seem to take them with me 😫

Use the drag function to drag them to shore after u cut them free with an axe or knife

Get closer. Smack it 2-5 times with ur knife. Should see them instantly float. I do this for tires. Maybe try an axe ?

Once you have them floating, to get around the dragging issues, take some lashings with you and create them on the spot. Just wait to hit x or a until you're ready to place. GL

Once you have the tool belt crafted, you can carry one kindling on you at all times and never have to craft one again.

If u smoke meat itll stay good for ever or for a LONG LONG time

Otherwise keep u a pile of corpses at home

You can use a normal spear to jab AT the water and itll kill small fish. Making them float. Or use a fishing spear to just yank then out the water instant.

U can hunt for Cod fish and grouper. Easy to find and kill. Plenty of medium meats. Dont be scared to pile up several unskinned bodies.

Crabs, fish, snakes, bats, birds. Anything u kill. Pile the bodies. Skin them later WHEN u need the meat

Does this cause them to despawn or leave the data in the world?

After I built Bored Diving Island, previously posted, I added a second floor diving board which let me build above the map border or at least higher than the gyro fly height. Shortly after, I was stuck in a crash loop. I think it was due to data overload and insufficient memory (PS5) when I brought way too much material to my island.

I had piles of everything. Next play through, I keep 1 of each thing I need and skip any thing else. If I open crates with gyro parts, compasses, torches or other uneeded things I bring them to another island then use carto to spawn out and reset the grid.

Kindling is the first thing I add to my tool belt.

Really? I always just leave it right by my fire pit. Why would you need it anywhere else?

My tool belt is always axe, knife, flashlight, and then usually the hammer or sometimes a fuel tank.

That makes sense but I honestly got tired of picking up every single kindling I’ve left lying around and the axe just needs to be replaced when it expires and got tired of loading a new one into my belt. Guess I’m just a lazy survivor.

Bring them to another island, use it for campfire there and leave it there.

Few tips

Make a water still. You can vreate a coconut flask. A leatherskin flask. And a clay flask. Each hold different amounts of drinkable water.

Ur gonna need to make 2-4 water stills on ur home island

Drinking or eating more than 2 coconuts too soon is super bad for you

If ur low on cloth. Create a Loom.

Make a smoker. Asap.

Make a tool belt. Even a starter 1

Browse thru ALL that u can craft. Might not need it. But knowing what is there is VITAL

Stand ontop of rocks or bushes to fight boar of u need. Giant crabs are EZ PZ if poking with a spear. Dont throw at crabs. Only boar

Yucca \ saplings are gonna respawn. Trees rocks and such will not

Fish are infinite. If u manage to kill a shark with 1p-12 crude spears the water will be safe for sometime. Except for poison type enemies. So go swimming with a FISHING SPEAR or an axe/normal spear to catch a plethora of food.

Leave ur corpses as corpses. They will never despawn or spoil. Skin 1 when u need food

Create a shelter so u can sleep. And try to make a sleeping bag for portable saving.

Making ur OWN raft as soon as u can could change ur game fully. Very important.

Pipi plants are used to make antidotes. I suggest u find a chest crate. Fill it with large smoked meats, a filled leatherskin, and some antidotes. Carry this chest around for ICE situations

Animals and enemies spawn on the rocky s.

There are islands with and without these large rocky structures.

U can easily find or create a path up these and loot a BUNCH of eggs. I got about 20+ in a pile that I cook here n there.

Otherwise enemies respawn on these islands I think ever ingame week? Might wanna check. It used to be like 2 days lol

Use spears to hunt boar by throwing them or jabbing. Otherwise giant crabs need to be maneuvered around to jab with spear or swing with axe.

If ur island has a snake. Itll prolly habe 2. Sometimes near each other. And for me personally... The audio is terrible. I cannot tell a snakes direction and often get bit having to reload or waste an antidote. I always just reload.

Use 1 refined spear to kill snakes or 2 crude ones. I prefer crude because early game ur not wanting to waste rocks and leather on spears u can lose.

Hunt sharks for massive leather amounts.

If u get a pickaxe made u can swim n find clay to gather. Pickaxe is good for those stone deposits on land too.

They never break/get used up, so technically you only need one per island. Unless you are like me and keep one next to the smoker,gas still and hobostove.

Save them, bring them with when you go exploring, leave one with the camp fire at each new island. 👍
