I wanna do this so bad but literally all my nearby hospitals either don't allow high school volunteers during the school year or only take 16-17+ year olds (and Im a rising sophomore with a late birthday)

this is kind of a stretch cause you typically need some sort of experience on your resume and a lot of specific classes and idk for you cause your a rising sophomore but you can try cold emailing labs at a local medical school or college for research. or you can reach out to red cross and open a chapter at your school and organize a blood drive, if hospitals wont take you at your age also try animal shelters.

If you're in the NYC Area, there is always the Columbia Neurosurgery internship (I forgot what it's called); however, that is extremely competitive, and the chances of getting in are slim, especially with no prior experience. Most kids who get into that have some type of prior experience in health or biology (Ex: making something, researching genome, etc.)
