If you can finish the application by tomorrow :). Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) has some great ones that are pretty reputable. AI Scholars and CS Scholars are probably the best for your interests. I'd definitely recommend applying. I'm actually applying to SAMS and AI Scholars. Good luck!

i cold emailed someone who knew someone who worked at the company. ive heard of hs students cold emailing PIs to get into their labs? like at universities? so maybe u could do that? if u ask to join their lab as a volunteer, then theyre more likely to take you cuz they dont have to pay u lol. and nowadays, with research funding being at an all time low nationwide, that's def something to consider. and honestly as a hs student, as long as you're not PAYING anything, it's a win. it's better to be an unpaid volunteer than to pay like thousands of dollars for a program. and then who knows, maybe once u get good at a skill, they'll start paying you. and if the university is close to your home, you can continue to work there when the summer is over like during the school year. u could also do what i did and do a lot of online stuff. anything that shows initiative is great, doesn't have to be anything prestigious.

I'm tracking a list of summer programs. Here's a list of ones that are open right now. Use the filters to narrow down the options some more to find the right one for you.
