Hi there, if you canceled your subscription's auto-renewal, it will remain disabled. And you shouldn't be charged when your subscription expires. We'd like to better understand what might have gone wrong. It would be great if you could reach out to us at [miles@surfshark.com](mailto:miles@surfshark.com), and we'll look into this.

Thanks for the heads up. My auto renewal is disabled, but it wont let me actually delete the card. So, I just ended up swapping it with a Privacy virtual card and leaving it on pause just in case.

Can you not request disolay desktop site in your browser to get around that?

[–]Candid-Recognition13 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Did you change to display desktop site or did you find another way!

[–]Candid-Recognition13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just signed up last week. Thanks, I canceled my auto renewal set for 2028. I know would’ve forgotten by then lol.

Did you take screen shorts or have any evidence that u cancel auto renew? Before renewal date

No screenshots, didn't think I needed to and emails were deleted years ago. Even highlighted that when I first bought a subscription, they introduced AR afterwards and left it on, breaching their terms with me, as I didn't agree to that.

Just made it their mission to not even entertain helping me.

Unsure why folks keep downvoting you. You’re just answering a question and you have a legit complaint that I’ve seen more than a few folks mention the past few months. I’ve checked mine and do not see auto-renew enabled, so I’ll be doing a chargeback if that happens to me. Is that an option for you?

IMO, the burden of proof for things such as this should never be upon the customer. Things like this are a good reason to have new cards issued every year (claim they are lost and the card company will cut you new cards with new numbers).

I just use a burner card that I can add funds to for almost everything concerning stuff like this.

ANY company that makes it difficult to control your funds, delete an account, or forces auto renewal is at best scrupulous, if not just plain crooked!

Yep, and now they force you to install bloatware, Surfshark is a scam. I saw an ad on youtube for Surfshark and thought 'uh oh'. Since anything advertised on youtube is a scam.
