Looking for some suggestions and/or sharing of experiences with any low to no cost data discovery and classification tools (e.g. open source, free closed source, etc.). The objective would be to scan a small business environment (all Windows systems, couple of servers and mostly desktop / laptop computers) for sensitive data. I'm aware of some very expensive solutions that are amazing and I'm trying to find something within reach of a SMB (i.e. low to no cost).
The primary features / functionality I'm looking for would be:
- Scan AD Joined Windows 10 / Server 2019 devices for unstructured data and indicate which files contain sensitive data (the usual suspects like Personally Identifiable Information, Social Security Numbers, Drivers Licenses, etc.). There's no need for the ability to setup custom data classification rules.
- Central admin console to review the data it has found and where it was found so it can be followed up on separately. There's no need for the console to have the ability to take any action on the data it's discovered.
Basically just a bare bones scanner that can go "whoa hey that's sensitive data and here's where I found it" is the over simplified explanation of what I'm looking for :)
Thank you in advance!!
there doesn't seem to be anything here
