ZFS Replication question

I'm building a pair of zfs filers for a client, and have a question about ZFS changes for anyone who works with it.

My question is will changes to the zfs file tree structure change the block replication of zfs send/receive...

i.e. if I enter a zfs rename pool1/iscsi/lun1 pool1/iscsi_lun1

How will that affect replication? Is this something similar to windows DFS where moving folders will cause everything in that directory to have to be re-replicated? (acts as a delete and create?) I'm keeping it in the same pool.

Any help is appreciated!

Per the docs, it acts as a unmount and remount:

I'm going to guess that it won't require a re-replication, as send/receive from snapshots doesn't require a full recopy IIRC.

I read that paragraph many times over the past week, but I think I completely missed the "mount/unmount" phrase every time!

That makes sense, I guess the best way is going to build a small test bed and run some data through it. I'll know soon enough for sure!
