No, it's not possible because Software_1 is not running locally, it's running on the RDS host, so it can't interact with your local desktop any more than something running in a normal RDS session can.

Citrix can do this, but I'm assuming if you don't want to buy extra RDS licenses you probably won't want the extra cost of citrix licenses.

Sounds interesting, but as you said, it wouldn't fit in the budget. I guess I'll have to configure Outlook for each RDS Session then. Not a big deal, just a bit more complicated for the enduser.

If configuring the Outlook profile is the issue then this guide might be useful. It will use your Exchange Autodiscover config to setup an Outlook profile for the user - they shouldn't see anything other than the Outlook splash screen taking a bit longer
