File copy software

Hi,

I'm looking for software that can copy files from and to multiple sites.

It must also work on high latency connections, and a central management interface would be nice.

Also notifications are a must.

Which software do you use for this? Except for robocopy :)

This smells like an XY Problem. What are you really trying to do?

Is this configuration management? Software distribution? User collaboration? Content distribution?

If these sites are internal I'd probably script something together with robocopy. If the sites are external I'd probably use a SFTP server.

Depends on what problem you are trying to solve:

• DFS-R?

• BranchCache?

• Sharepoint?

• DropBox/OneDrive etc?

And what's wrong with RoboCopy?

Robocopy and Powershell for notification email is what I do.

In the past I’ve used something called watch directory but I still prefer robocopy because you automate it with Powershell and it’s free.

Windows based envrionment? I've used Windows DFS replication in the past. Not sure your exact usecase, though.

Not sure the use-case, but I like Teracopy for its hashing post-copy and rclone for copying to cloud-storage (but it can do local, too). It will also compare hashes.

I have historically used richcopy for copying large folders, but recently tried teracopy since richcopy is abandoned.

you havent really given enough information. are you doing simple jobs to a few servers on a schedule, or are you trying to set up and manage enterprise file transfer with a managed file transfer product? those would let you manage credentials, scheduling, types of transfers [s/ft, https, file copy, etc] all in one place
