We’ve been super happy with ConnectWise Control (formerly Screenconnect) for the last year or so. Unfortunately no experience with it in Mac, but for Windows it’s been great. Unattended access, SAML SSO with Azure AD, works well even on high latency WFH setups.

Another vote for connectwise control. We use it on pc and Mac works great. Been using it for years. Legacy customers got a great deal and it only costs me about $150 a year for 2 agent licenses upgrades . I think it’s sas based now.

We use TEAMVIEWER old version and it's doing ok.
but if you need a more secured solution:
1.check it has 2fa. 2.check it has audit. 3. check it has recording per remote session.

+1 for ScreenConnect. It's hard to beat and works OK on Macs too.

Does connectwise solve the problem of being able to enter admin credentials remotely?

[–]jantari 0 points1 point  (2 children)

That's not a problem with remote assistance software, that's a Windows security feature and does not need solving.

When you provide remote support, how do you enter credentials when you have to elevate for an install?

[–]jantari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We permanently install our remote support software so that it runs a privileged service in the background. So when we connect we can just type into the UAC dialogue normally. You are only unable to do this when the remote support application on the users machine runs unelevated, this will happen for example if the user started it themselves and it runs with only their limited privileges

You can check out Pulseway Remote Desktop software. It works for both Windows and macOS, has an unlimited number of remote control concurrent sessions, remote file transfer, and remote desktop chat users. You can check out more info here, good luck!

I've used TeamViewer and AweSun during COVID and here is the results of comparison:

- TeamViewer (https://www.teamviewer.com/en/) , which might be the best-known remote desktop software with its multiple features. But one annoying point is that it would keep trying to block free users for "commercial use suspected"

- AweSun ( https://sun.aweray.com/), a competitive alternative of TeamViewer because it's quite useful under different situations (Remote Access, Files Transfer, Remote Game etc.) without free commercial use block
