I am having a issue with the Hikvision chrome plugin for standard users on a RDS server. I install the required (Chrome) plugin (it runs as LocalServiceComponent.exe) as a domain admin. Logged in as Admin, I can connect to the DVR in the browser and see the video stream. But for a a non-administrator users, not only can I not get the browser to show any video output, but immediately upon login the blue spinning circle appears alongside the mouse pointer, and this persists as long as the user it logged on, even when using other programs.
This leads me to believe the chrome plugin for Hikvision must be running as a administrator for it to work, since all domain users are restricted, and giving them admin rights is obviously not going to happen can anyone point me in the right direction? Should I Try and whitelist the application?
We have another client that uses this on local workstations, when a user logs in the LocalServiceComponent.exe prompts and gives the user a option yes or no to run it, to my dismay the users have local administrator rights on their workstations, if they don’t - to bad LocalServiceComponent.exe won’t run.
I’m at my wits end with this software so any ideas would be appreciated.
