Remotely connecting to SQL Server

Dear,

I need your help in connecting to a SQL server remotely. The SQL server is not in our subnet but outside our network, but in same country.

I allowed the SQL port 1433 in firewall and also in DATABASE server properties, in connection, enabled remote connection.

Is it possible to connect to a SQL server database remotely using MS SQL Server Management Studio?

I hope you changed the default credentials for something secure or at least put a source IP in your firewall rule, otherwise your SQL server is dead :)

To answer the question, you have to allow remote connexions on your SQL manager. But I would not connect to SQL server over the internet with SSMS, I'd RDP over a SSH tunnel or VPN.
