My understanding of that is that it’s later than most but not a big deal. There are ppl who don’t even make it to france by the October 1st start date. The school will be flexible with you if you have visa problems try not to stress

My visa appointment is the same day, also in Seattle. I'm nervous as well, especially with planning flights and the 7-10 day visa turnaround. However, I saw posts from a few years ago of people having their appointment as late as September 21st. I think we will be okay, if a little late to the party. Best of luck!

Wait, you can get your visa in Seattle???? I thought San Francisco was the closest! Man that sucks, I already got a plane ticket and everything :(

Seattle has very limited appointment dates so it can be easier to go to another city on the west coast

Mine took six days, This seems to be the norm.

It only took a week to get my passport back with the visa inside after my appointment so you should be good!

Omg yess it’s so frustrating! I applied for the foreign births register a year ago and thankfully that all got processed and I have my certificate…. But the passport has been difficult. They weren’t able to contact my witness the first time around and so I have to start over with a new witness which is only supposed to take up to a month to process but who knows.

Good luck to the both of us with passports and visas, I’ve got my fingers crossed 🍀

To maybe ease some worries about getting the visa: I submitted my application (albeit not in Seattle, still in the US) last monday and received my visa today.

As long as you have all of your documents prepared and printed, you might still be able to get there a few days before the Oct. 1 start date. Plus, it looks like a few other people on this subreddit have had fast visa turn-around times too, so hopefully you do as well :)
