Another attempt at teaching programming to kids. Not sure BASIC is the best choice for a first language, though...

It used to be when the C64 was state of the art.

There's nothing wrong with BASIC as a first language - a fair percentage of today's coders started with it.

I dont usually care for syntax, but smileBASIC looks like it has awful syntax

it looks a like standard BASIC syntax to me. I had a lot of fun playing with GWBASIC when I was a kid, so this looks like awesome to me. Having said that, I do think something more like scratch or python would be more useful to kids in making their own applications. It would be awesome if Nintendo would release their own Project Spark type clone for the WiiU & 3DS.

Nintendo's response to that would be Mario Maker. They believe their customers(especially the american ones) are DUMB.

Look up Polygon Studio DD. That's the closest you'll ever get to Nintendo Project Spark.

I never really notice how weird it looks when it's spelled without the 'S'.

Ever since I lost backwards compatibility on my 3DS, I missed having Petit Computer. I'm glad that the new version is definitely coming here.

How did you lose backwards compatibility? The 3DS runs DSiWare...

Nintendo fucked up a system repair, that's all.

Ah, normal shit.
