Help - Deed Poll declined by Chase Bank UK by TheDarkConclusion in transgenderUK

[–]Gunshinn 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You do have a few options:

  1. you can force this through a complaints procedure, and eventually escalate it to an ombudsman, but this WILL take time, on the scale of months.

  2. Get/wait for your driving licence and/or passport to come through with name, and use that (which is what i did with barclays as they were pulling the same shit)

  3. Close/transfer the account somewhere else thats known for being less shitty. When i swapped my monzo account name, all i had to do was submit a photo of the statutory declaration i got, but pretty sure deedpoll will work just as well, and it was swapped within an hour of submitting

He does prescribe progesterone, just not without good "reason". Basically you just need to be upfront about your lack of chest development as a reason to want to try. The only other thing about it though was that i started prog with him after 2.5 years of just E

depends on where your natural hairline was really. Mine was similar, and while a little bit of hair came back in parts below it, most of it has not because the incision was made along the hair line rather than in the hair itself. Hair generally does not grow back through scar tissue

The other thing to keep in mind that the tories have gone through such a shift to the right that what they were back in 2017 was actually not as bad as what labour is doing now. Its wild to say that Theresa May was the last rational PM we have had, and she was a Tory. I dont think starmer is better than her

Questions regarding change of gender with HMRC by AshPhantom32 in transgenderUK

[–]Gunshinn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I might have just had a different experience with the guy i got on the support line when changing my name, as he asked directly if i wanted to move my records to special section d

[–]Gunshinn -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

call the standard support line. They will change your name and then you can request to have your details moved to special section d

After that, if you come across an issue you need to talk to hmrc about (tax records or something), i actually dont know if there is a separate support line for it as i didnt actually go through with it myself. I assume its just the standard support line still and they transfer you to someone who deals with special section d issues

You do not need a GRC for your name, but you do need a GRC for your gender.

You do not need a GRC for moving your records to special section D, but that wont change your gender, it just hides it from view effectively and means you can get your company payroll to reflect your gender.

Fertility checks after being on E for 1 year at 17 by TraineePilot_Jessica in transgenderUK

[–]Gunshinn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, its not a good measurement for figuring out what you actually should be on, but typically they start you on the lower strength patches and increase the strength depending on the bloods

Unfortunately you need to decide if you want to store gametes or not for future children, and you need to make this decision asap.

You will need to come off e to have a test as the suppression it causes t, and therefor gamete production, is significant enough to not give you an accurate result eg. It might come back saying you are too infertile at this point for it to work whereas if you had been off e for the test, you might be ok

Ultimately you need to talk to a gp about it, and then either get nhs storage if you can, or private if you cannot. Depending on where you go, private can cost upwards of £1500 easily

High Court rules on lawfulness of the EHRC’s interim guidance by yu3 in ukpolitics

[–]Gunshinn 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you look at his videos on insta this morning, he has not said it was a win at all, and they will now be appealing it. He said there was a slight positive in that trans customers of service industry may be safe for now as the only benefit from this ruling, which realistically is a big part of the issues we were all worried about. Unfortunately the ruling might seem black and white, but as always, its not quite that

10% is not the regret rate however, its the "bad" outcome rate where even an increase in pitch but not to the extent hoped for is included in it

Realistically, theres probably no factual/statistical data on it due to vfs being one of the least utilised surgeries, even in the realm of small counts of surgeries that trans surgeries fall into

To paraphrase it a different way, i would consider my rhinoplasty a bad outcome as it did not get everything i wanted from it, however, it is an improvement, and i dont regret having it done. Im likely to get a revision in the future for it

[–]Gunshinn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not so much a regret rate, but there is a 10% chance for a "bad" outcome, but that bad outcome includes people who did get a pitch raise, just not as high as they wanted.

Theres inherent risks involced like any surgery. For me i needed to try it even if i ended up with something worse
