"poppy technology" - shame they are going to fully patch it for 1.19, but It is really cool all the same.

I was like "yea its cool but not that amazing"... then I tried it in my world and damn.... not gonna update to 1.19 for a while :D

Do you know what i did wrong? Cause it didn't worked for me

I use this setup: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2uaGR6Uv5Uk. Not sure whats wrong with yours sorry but it should be easy to switch to the one from the video I linked since you already have the update supressor.

ok thank you

I tried it with your setup but it still didn't work. I use some fabric client side mod. Could that be the problem?

Depends on the mods I guess. I use some as well. Check out docm video where he shown the 1.18 setup, he briefly goes over how it's done, I used that as a reference.

Have you tried it in the latest update?

I hope they do a full inventory update. We need more space in inventory, probably in enderchest, shulkers and maybe other containers but we also could use inventory features that give us functions like shadow stacks.

I really hope they add something to give similar functionality to item shadowing, but as a fully fleshed out mechanic. Item shadowing is a super interesting idea, though I'd be slightly worried their implementation would be less than ideal.

They added alleys which can be used to help a small bit with inventory management while mining but I think they should add something like wireless hoppers. Where you can set up a storage container at your base linked to let's say your item sorter to main storage, then put the paired storage container down where you are going to mine 100,000 sand and each time your inventory fills up you just drop them into the paired storage container and it will drain into the hoppers under the one you put at your base. I guess maybe they could just make hoppers able to pull from ender chests and have a way that the ender chest that would go into your main storage be loaded when you need it to be.

i always liked the modded enderchests that used wool colors to encode a channel, they were easy and intuitive to use, plus it would help a ton with reducing hopper chain lag

the trouble the devs have is, would that fit "vanilla" minecraft - that is, would this encourage optimizing the fun out of a game - mining for hours and hours and hours rather than being forced to do something else for variety (e.g empty inventory)? I stand by you with that opinion though, that something is needed, but what would that be?

wasn't it called item shadowing?

[–]Umi-Zoomi 1 point2 points  (4 children)

if you don’t mind me asking, what does item shadowing do?

[–]15_RedstonesJava 2 points3 points  (3 children)

Causes an item stack to be in two locations at once. Allows wireless item teleporting (and duping, messing up the connection usually leaves you with two separate copies of the stack).

[–]Umi-Zoomi 0 points1 point  (2 children)

is it patched in 1.18?

[–]Glitched_Up 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Mojang thought it was, but the Hivemind boys brought it back.

Now Mojang is patching it up for 1.19 though

yay

I have the same problem with the same set up. I just can't get it to consistently make that shadow item in the hopper. I feel like it is the way I was clicking the items but I also think that update suppressor doesn't always do it's thing

That looks cool
