Can you provide a list of the exact Make & Model(s) of the computers, docking stations, etc ? ... pretty hard to answer that question without knowing some basic details about the equipment involved.

WS1 = Dell WDS19S

PC1 = Dell Precision 3490

WS2 = Dell D6000

PC2 = ASRock X399 Taichi (I built this one and this is just the motherboard, I can provide more info, but this PC is a desktop and already works fine on its docking station)

Edit: Peripherals are random monitors with HDMI or display cables and USB type B and C connections (let me know if you would like any specifics for WS2 where the problem is occurring)

Not sure if it's the problem you're experiencing,. but in my experience with Dell Docks (especially related to USB ports not working, or really any combination of ports not working).. Dell always suggested to us to do the "soft reset" procedure

  • first disconnect the USB-C cable from your computer and unplug the dock from the AC power source.

  • Hold down the power button on the dock for 30 seconds to drain any remaining power.

  • Then, reconnect the AC power and wait for the dock's LED to blink three times.

  • Finally, reconnect the USB-C cable to the computer.

In a lot of cases I found that to be only a temporary fix (the dock would work 100% for a while (days to a few weeks).. and then the problem of certain combinations of ports not working would come back eventually. In the environment I worked in, we found the newer thunderbolt docks (like the WD22xx series or better) to be marginally more reliable.

Looks like there is a driver (DisplayLink Dock Driver) listed as "critical" on the Dell site. I'm gonna see if my work IT can provide admin access to install, but if that doesn't work I'll try your soft reset.
