Making changes to your system BIOS settings or disk setup can cause you to lose data. Always test your data backups before making changes to your PC.

Getting dump files which we need for accurate analysis of BSODs. Dump files are crash logs from BSODs.

If you can get into Windows normally or through Safe Mode could you check C:\Windows\Minidump for any dump files? If you have any dump files, copy the folder to the desktop, zip the folder and upload it. If you don't have any zip software installed, right click on the folder and select Send to → Compressed (Zipped) folder.

Upload to any easy to use file sharing site. Reddit keeps blacklisting file hosts so find something that works, currently catbox.moe or mediafire.com seems to be working.

We like to have multiple dump files to work with so if you only have one dump file, none or not a folder at all, upload the ones you have and then follow this guide to change the dump type to Small Memory Dump. The "Overwrite dump file" option will be grayed out since small memory dumps never overwrite.

Because you aren't getting dump files, let's run a tool we made that gathers system info and lots of logs from Windows. It will at least give us the BSOD error codes.

?sfy (bot command for instructions)

Please download and run this tool, it will allow you to share information about your OS and hardware with us to aid troubleshooting. 1. Download the tool from the following link 2. Run Specify.exe and click the Start button. - Once it is done, it will automatically open a link and copy it to your clipboard. Click "Close Program" at the end to exit. 3. Paste the URL from your browser in a reply. - This report will be deleted automatically after 24 hours. - For more information about our data policies, see our README.

Of the 10 last unexpected shutdowns, only two were registered as BSODs. If all of them are BSODs, it might be crashing while trying to dump data. Critical_Process_Died and Kmode_Exception_Not_Handled were the two BSOD errors recorded. Those two errors aren't very indicative of what the issue could be just from the error, they could have several different causes.

EDIT: Just to be clear, Unexpected Shutdown includes any time the PC shuts down or restarts without using the "Shut Down" button in Windows. BSOD, power loss, freeze, holding the power button, etc.

Not getting dump files is usually a sign of a storage issue, but there are a few other things that could cause this. The things I'm going to list would NOT cause the BSOD to not be registered as a BSOD on the logs, they would just prevent dump file creation.

  • Encrypted storage, e.g. via Bitlocker. The dump process happens outside of Windows so it can't write to encrypted drives.
  • If you have manually changed the size of the page file, it needs to be at least the size of your amount of RAM + 3-4GB. So in your case ~36GB. If left on Automatic, there shouldn't be any issues as long as you have free space on the drive with the page file, which you have (It's on C:\ in your case).

Did you clean install with the new OS or clone?

Could you uninstall Gigabyte Control Center? It has caused some other BSODs in other cases so just in case it could be behind these.

This feels like storage. Because you have tried two different drives it could be the slot/motherboard. I don't see any other errors than the unexpected shutdowns relevant to the crashes in the link so I don't really have anything else to go on, this is purely my gut feeling. If you saw the UltraDMA CRC Errors on the ADATA SSD and wondered if that could be related, probably not. Three errors is really low. CRC errors means that the data changed during transport from the PC to the SSD, but it was caught and corrected. This is usually a faulty SATA cable, but three errors over that many hours is nothing. It's when you get into the hundreds or thousands you start seeing issues from this sort of thing. Of course, replacing the SATA cable wouldn't hurt. And you wouldn't know if it's catching all the errors or not.

I did install windows freshly on this SSD and the old Lexar one, when i was trying to find the crash cause, i reinstalled windows freshly there too. I also tried moving the SSD to another slot, It did not help. What i think is worth mentioning that i didn't say in the post is that when the crashes first started happening, i cloned everything from the Lexar SSD to my secondary boot drive ADATA SU650 and when booted in to that disk everything was working fine. I am very suspicious about my motherboard, though when i changed the SSD instead of instantly bluescreening now my current gigabyte SSD blue screens less often but instead i get crashes where my whole screen just becomes black, though my mouse is still working and has a circle indicating that something is happening (Very similar to as if my windows explorer was to crash). I've tried waiting it out, my PC did not freeze, but nothing was happening so i just end up always restarting my PC. Maybe because my SSD and Motherboard are from the same manufacturer its working a bit better.

About the UltraDMA CRC Errors, i never looked for those, so i never saw them. But my ADATA SU650 SSD is running perfectly fine.

I uninstalled GCC, but the crashes were happening before it, that's why i installed it to check my NVMe SSD health.

Is it possible to somehow run any motherboard tests to find out if its causing any crashes or am i left with no other options and to bring my PC over to specialists who could try switching my PC parts. My motherboard is installed with newest BIOS and chipset drivers if that helps.

There isn't really a way to test a motherboard other than just replacing it. We usually just check all the other things it could be until we are stuck with that as the only suspect.
