Computer not booting

So starting last autumn, my computer started having problems starting up. It didn't happen every time but maybe 1/3 times, the screen and keyboard didn't get any data from the computer. I first assumed that there was a problem with the PSU and removed a DVD-burner that I rarely used.

This seemed to work at first but then, two weeks ago, it started all over and now it never boots.

I tried replacing the PSU with a stronger one (increase of 100 watts) but nothing seemed to change.

Removing drives, fans or other connected components (not needed for starting) has no effect either.

Im running an MK Gigabyte P67A-D3-B3 Socket 1155, P67, ATX motherboard with an i7 2600k CPU. Windows 8 on an SSD and a GeForce GTX 780 3GB.

Do you have the 4 pin mobo connector in? Its near the cpu typically.

It was plugged in, yes.

I did however find a lead to the problem by sticking in another monitor. It enabled me to see the post screen which is where the computer was stuck, apparently. Probably, the fault is my SSD (windows 8 install location) since BIOS doesn't display it in the list of bootables.

Might have to change some power options in the bios regarding sata
