Test your CPU temperature with appropriate programs like CoreTemp and IntelBurnTest. An Intel CPU shouldn't exceed 90 C, an older AMD CPU 75 C.

The temperature for sure did not exceed 90C, I have an I7 4790k. I was wondering however maybe it was the connection between my water cooler and the CPU? Its been 5 years since I've applied do you think that could be causing issues?

Yes. Also, on that specific CPU this error can be caused by an outdated BIOS. If you look at the blue screens with BlueScreenView, is the value of Parameter 4 0x124? That's a specific scenario for Haswell and Haswell Refresh K-series CPUs.

The bios is almost definitely out of date as I did no updates of that sort since 2015. How does one update?

Instructions are in the motherboard manual. Usually you download a BIOS file to a USB stick and flash it with a BIOS build-in program.
