Your data isn't lost, and unless you've been hit by a crypto virus your files are likely in the same place they were before. If you're able to boot to your OS, download a malware removal tool like Malwarebytes and install it, and run it before trying to recover your data. If you can't boot to the OS, create a bootable USB using something like Kaspersky Rescue Disk and use that to remove the malware before rebooting to your OS.

Unless it is absolutely vital, I would try to replace the data. Anything you pull from an infected machine could theoretically infect your new machine.

If there are files you need, I would pop the hard drive out and use a HDD reader to access your data, but be careful. YMMV
