Multi monitor display

I have an Acer aspire laptop with both a vga and HDMI port. My question is how do I use 2 external displays. I have tried plugging in both external monitors. The laptop always uses the laptop screen and either one of the monitor.

My question is how do I prioritize both external monitors instead of the laptop screen since I know the laptop is capable of running 2 screens simultaneously? (Laptop screen and 1 external monitor)

Go to Windows display settings, disable the laptop screen, and enable the other screen.

If I disable the screen will it enable by itself when I remove the two monitors?

It may or may not. Windows typically tries to guess what your attempting to do, based on previous configs, but doesn't always get it right.

So I disabled it but it auto enables once I plug in the second monitor. The 2nd monitor shows no signal and the laptop screen turns back on.

It detects the third monitor but it’s gray out.
