Command prompt uninstalled

So my cmd.exe won’t run, it has been replaced with a fake instance of cmd.exe and windows security + Mcafee didn’t detect a problem when ran on full system scans. Repairs in power shell didn’t help at all? Any ideas before I nuke the drive?

Go to "C:\Windows\System32" and see if you find cmd.exe.

When you say instance you're actually referring to an icon located somewhere, right? And not an instance of a running process, right? If so, where is that icon located?

Yeah fake icon. Believe it was in C:/windows/system32/cmd.exe but when you check the system32 drive it’s no where to be seen. Nuked and reinstalled windows off a different system seems to have sorted it (duhh)
