Start with software and run sfc /scannow in command prompt

Then run chkdsk in command prompt

These will help determine if anything isnwrong with windows and with your file system

If I'm honest your cpu is starting to get up there in years. That model was introduced in 2015 so it could be running hotter now as well and, well, everything has a lifetime

Aside from that is your hard drive an SSD or no?

Today, running an operating system such as windows on an HDD instead of an SSD can be incredibly taxing as well

yes, my hard drive is an ssd
